Magdaline Majuma

Executive Director

A Sociologist and a community development practitioner with more than 10 years’ experience in community development. A believer of giving power to young women to tell their stories and speak up for themselves. She is Msichana Empowerment Kuria's Executive director and Programmes Coordinator. Magdaline has been active in the field of training and capacity building on SRHR, Human right and GBV for six years, focusing on girl lead safe spaces

Cynthia Akomo

Monitoring And Evaluation Officer

Cynthia is a Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning officer. She began her career as a teacher channel and soon became keen to work with marginalized communities directly. So she switched to the nonprofit sector and joined Msichana Empowerment Kuria, where she set up our Monitoring & Evaluation models on girl-centred programming. She also volunteers in the nearby girl’s school to develop tools for assessing the performance of students.

Joyce Kanini

Finance And Administration Officer

Joyce's experience includes working for over three years at a community school supporting the finance department. Her latest position was as Finance and Admin Officer. Joyce holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Rongo University in Kenya.

Chiara Consentino, Belgium

Is a feminist and a passionate activist about gender equality and women's rights, particularly sexual and reproductive health and rights. She is currently Head of Policy and Advocacy at the End FGM European Network, an organisation working to end female genital mutilation. In her free time she love travelling, learning new languages, singing and playing volleyball.

Stacie Cox, United Kingdom

A qualified accountant from Cambridge, UK. She started working in accounting almost 12 years ago as an auditor and works mainly in the charitable sector. In January she spent two weeks at Msichana Empowerment Kuria building the Organizational Capacity with financial management. She is very passionate about Women’s Rights and believes that all girls should have the right to an education and opportunities to be successful in their own right. When not working she is either with my horses, binging netflix or planning my travels.

Tom Church Yard, Kingdom of Eswatini.

Tom Churchyard (MPhil, Cantab.) is the Founder and Executive Director of Kwakha Indvodza (‘Building a Man’), an Eswatini-based non-profit specializing in community-led health and behaviour change interventions with men and boys.After graduating from the University of Cambridge, UK, Tom moved to Eswatini where he founded Kwakha Indvodza in response to a fundamental gap he saw in gender equality and sexual reproductive health programming: men. Today, he is a regional implementer of male engagement in gender transformation and men’s health programming, having worked directly with gender and youth issues for most of his working life.

Philanthropist and Law Graduate. She is very passionate about Women & Children’s Rights. Every year she supports a Charity close to her heart by volunteering her time, skills and resources. She loves to travel the world.

Maria Marine, Spain

Philanthropist, Mom and leader. She is very passionate about children’s rights Maria volunteers her time ad skills whenever in every opportunity she gets. She is currently supporting a children’s project in Uganda to keep orphaned kids safe. She was connected to Msichana Empowerment Kuria by a mutual friend and since been engaged in Msichana’s

 

work, in December she mobilized her community and together supported 500 girls under Msichana Empowerment Kuria with menstrual care essentials, school uniforms and school fees.

Natalie Longmire- Kulis, United States of America

She is a rising junior at Stanford University in California, USA. She is Majoring in International Relations and Human Rights, and very passionate about women's rights and learning how to cultivate important and critical change in this field through sustainable, community-based solutions. After connecting virtually in December 2019, she was planning on spending this summer at Msichana with the girls and community. She loves hiking, cooking, and spending time with my family & friends.
